Q:
Your instructions read that the dropchecker should be mounted just below the watersurface. Some people argue that is not correct, as co2 is lighter than water and rises up. Meaning if you read good co2 levels at the top, you have bot enough co2 at the bottom, where the plants are. I personally would assume your solution already accounta for that. But as assumptions are killing, i would like to hear your thoughts on this. Kind regards, Ruben

Hello Ruben,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
You can place it at the opposite end of where your CO2 is injected, almost on the surface of the water or you can also go a bit down almost mid level. The checker fluid changes due to a PH difference when CO2 is added. The CO₂ checker is best placed at the opposite end of the diffuser. That way you are aware if CO₂ is reaching every corner or not. You can do tests to put it in different sides of your aquarium and see how it changes. Remember the gas diffusion rate in water is slower than in air so you can try moving the drop checker to many areas of your tank to get a good idea how well it's mixing.
